Washington County enlisted the services of LEEKA Architects, formerly STOA / EKA architects to design a new accessible courtroom on the fourth floor of the Justice services building. Included in the design of the courtroom was the judges office and chambers as well as a jury room. To keep the other court rooms operating during the construction of this courtroom, non noisy work was conducted during the day while noisy work had to be conducted on off days or after hours. The courtroom was designed so a judge in a wheel chair would be able to use the courtroom un-assisted. The finished courtroom received positive praise from its users.
